Happy hump day! I hope your week is treating you well thus far. Today, I am going to share my latest pattern test with you from George + Ginger patterns, the RuLo Top and Dress. I completed my first test with Kristi back December. She just recently expanded her size range and I finally get to make her patterns in my size. I was just outside of her size range before. Testing with Kristi is a joy! She takes everything the testers say into consideration and is super active in the tester group. Questions are usually answered within minutes. Considering she’s prepping for her first showing at New York Fashion, that’s nuts!!!
There are an insane amount of options in this pattern! Honestly, when she previewed it in the tester group I thought it was several different patterns. There are options for set in sleeves, with or without a shoulder ruffle, or a dolman. The lengths include crop top, shirt, tunic, and dress. You can choose from regular sleeves, full bell sleeves with ties, and single, double or triple bell sleeves. The pattern is drafted for 2 way stretch sweater knits with a good drape and at least 50% stretch.
I tested the dress version with double tier bell sleeves made from some lovely purple sweater knit I found in my stash. Back in college this would have been the perfect game day dress paired with a mustard scarf for those beautiful Louisiana Saturday nights in Death Valley. Now, I could easily dress it up with stockings and boots or wear it with booties for more of an everyday look. My second version I made the dolman with a full bell using some super comfy brushed French terry from Knitpop. The brushed FT doesn’t have the greatest recovery so I will definitely go back and add some clear elastic to the shoulder seams and neckband. Unfortunately, I made this version Monday and haven’t gotten a chance to take nice pictures of it yet. Fortunately, Courtney took some sweet pics of my purple dress. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and make sure to pick up your copy of the RuLo here while it is on sale for $6.75 until Friday! Thats a freaking steal for all the options, man! Join the George + Ginger Facebook group to pick up some inspiration from the gorgeous ladies there.
